What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are non cross-linked hyaluronic acid that is injected superficially under the skin to improve skin quality and hydration. They stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which results in a firmer, more youthful appearance. Skin boosters can be used to hydrate, tighten and brighten skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They can be used individually or in combination with other treatments, as skin boosters can actually enhance the results of many other treatments. Unlike dermal fillers, skin boosters do not cause augmentation, and will not change the contours of the face.
What can I expect?
Skin boosters are administered through injections with tiny needles to allow the product to be delivered under the surface of the skin where it will work best. Because these injections are still very superficial, you will have very limited discomfort during treatment. You may find you initially have small lumps or bumps in the areas being treated as the product dissipates, but these will usually disappear after about 30-60 minutes.
What happens afterwards?
Following treatment, you are advised to avoid hot water/steam, exfoliation products, any skin devices, sun-beds, or facials for 3 days following treatment for best results.
Can I have a Skin Booster?
You will need to have an initial consultation to determine your skin goals, and what type of treatment (if any) would be best for you and your skin. We will need to consider any medical conditions or medications when deciding on our treatment plan. Skin boosters are not suitable for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
