I qualified from University of Dundee in 1991 and have been practicing in East Kilbride since 1993, and joined Avondale in 2001. I am committed to providing an exceptional quality of care. To this end, over the last 6 years I have enjoyed working with my team to implement all the changes required to bring to the community a dental practice with the latest technology and attitude of delivering real choices to suit all our different lifestyle needs. My specialist interests are: Prevention, endodontics, restorative dentistry, cosmetic procedures including tooth-whitening, veneer, crown and bridge restorations, working with the leading laboratories in the field of natural restorations.

I qualified from The University of Glasgow in 2004 and joined the Practice in October 2005 and enjoy seeing a wide variety of patients. I bring to the practice a wealth of knowledge in the latest materials and techniques available. I am committed to providing high quality, up to the minute dentistry, for all the family. Since qualifying from the University of Dundee in 2004, I have been providing high quality general dental care in the South Lanarkshire area and was delighted to join the Avondale team in April of 2009. I enjoy providing dental services to all ages and members of the community and having been an anxious child patient myself , I am keen to provide a friendly, family centered approach to care with a focus on prevention rather than cure. I aim to provide treatment and advice on the most innovative dental procedures using the latest materials and the finest laboratories. Both NHS and private treatment options can be discussed in a friendly and approachable way so that each and every patient can have the confidence to get that dream smile. I have special interests in endodontics, oral surgery and cosmetic procedures and ensure I keep my finger on the pulse through structured professional development.
Ben McElhinny, Dentist

I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2007 and started practicing at Avondale in February 2009. I enjoy meeting people and do my best to ensure that all visits here are as relaxed and comfortable as possible. This includes giving full explanations of procedures from start to finish, ensuring that I put my patients at ease. All treatment is patient centered with a particular emphasis on preventative care, especially with children. Amongst my interests within dentistry are advanced restorative dentistry, the prevention of periodontal disease and also the treatment of anxious patients. I am committed to continuing my training as a means to providing the highest standard of care and the latest techniques to my patients, to ensure you have a healthy smile both now and in the future.
Annette Pollock, Hygienist

Since qualifying from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1988, I have gained vast experience in patient care by working in a variety of dental practices. I joined Avondale in 2007 and have enjoyed seeing the practice grow. As a preventive based practice we work hard to encourage our patients to achieve a healthy mouth which is easily maintained. Each patients care is individual and will be tailored to their specific dental needs. It is essential to me that my patients are comfortable during treatment and that they are fully involved in the planning of their care. Hygiene visits should be pain free and can be carried out under local anaesthetic if necessary. It is of extreme importance to me that patients understand the treatments offered to them and I would hope, feel comfortable to discuss any concerns they may have. Cosmetically, I offer an Air Abrasion clean at the end of each treatment. This procedure gives a deep clean and is highly effective in the removal of staining, leaving patients with an incredibly fresh feeling mouth.
