Services

Examination: We recommend to our patients that they have their teeth checked-up every 6 months. Visiting regularly will aid early detection of problems and therefore the need for treatment will be minimised. Patients with full dentures should also have their oral tissue checked by their dentist once a year.

Hygiene: We recommend that our patients attend our hygienist as required. The hygienist will focus on improving and maintaining the health of your gums. Our patients have gained confidence and feel more aware of the importance of good oral health.

Halitosis (bad breath) is a common problem associated with poor oral hygiene. This can be easily treated in over 80% of the population. Our dentists and hygienist will help you in alleviating this embarrassing problem. As well as improving your oral hygiene, a visit to the hygienist will have the added effect of brightening your smile.

Fillings:

Filling materials are used to restore a decayed or broken down tooth. We will discuss at your examination appointment the options available. Metal amalgam was until recently the filling material of choice. As patients have become more dentally aware they are choosing tooth-coloured restorations. We therefore offer the Venus composite system. The advantages of this system are: aesthetic restorations, low sensitivity and increased strength.

Veneers:

Porcelain veneers are thin, semi-translucent laminates permanently bonded to your teeth. They are the most aesthetic option for a variety of dental conditions involving front teeth, including:

  • Broken/chipped teeth
  • Stained/unslightly fillings
  • Intrusive staining that cannot be bleached
  • Mild tooth misalignment or crowding

The advantage of veneering is that the procedure requires minimum tooth penetration and a natural look is readily achieved. Therefore, porcelain veneers are one of the most popular procedures in aesthetic dentistry.

Crowns:

Crowns are complete porcelain coverage and are often placed where teeth have large, broken-down fillings, thus protecting and preserving the remaining natural tooth.

To enhance your smile a metal-free, tooth coloured crown can also replace an older metal/porcelain crown. These crowns have a more natural appearance and eliminate grey shadows on the gum-line.

We will discuss with you all the treatment options and can provide you with literature on all of the latest techniques. We work closely with a team of highly specialised technicians.

Bridges and Implants:

bridge before and after

When one or more teeth are missing a bridge and fill the gap and prevents the remaining natural teeth from drifting, so that dental health and facial aesthetics are not compromised. They are popular with patients as they provide a permanent, non-removable alternative to removable partial dentures.

Whether supported be adjacent teeth or by implants, bridges offer life-like aesthetics and a stable chewing surface. They are easily maintained with modified brushing and flossing.

Implants: Dental Implants are small titanium fixtures into the bone that take the place of the natural root/tooth system. Implants provide additional support where teeth are missing, without putting additional forces onto remaining natural teeth. They may be used to support the replacement of a single missing tooth or a complete functional set for individuals who have lost many or all of their teeth.

This is a very specialised branch of restorative dentistry and accordingly it is of the utmost importance that the surgeon who undertakes the procedure has had the training and experience to optimise the chance of success. We therefore refer our patients to a leading expert in this field.

Dentures: Working closely with highly trained and experienced technicians we can offer all of the options for the restoring of missing teeth. We use techniques where a patient who has had a denture for several years, can have it replaced with the minimum of discomfort. There have been many recent advances in the materials/teeth used in this field and so modern dentures have a much more natural appearance than their predecessors.

Tooth Whitening:

before and after veneers before and after whitening before and after whitening

The ageing process, along with lifestyle, can stain and darken our teeth. A few of the things we all do regularly can contribute to the staining of our teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea or red wine. Smoking is also a major cause of tooth staining.

Tooth whitening can get your smile looking its best. We use a tooth-whitening procedure which has been proved over time to be long-lasting, give minimal discomfort, and is both safe and effective.

Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

Botox: Repeated pull of facial muscles leads to wrinkles and facial creases. Overtime facial habits such as grimacing, raising eyebrows etc develop wrinkles which reflect this.

Botox freezes the muscles that cause the wrinkle and help prevent wrinkles becoming more pronounced. This means small lines can be treated to stop them developing into deeper lines. Generally we will treat deeper lines with Botox and then with Restylane fillers if some deep lines persist.

Restylane: As we age, we lose collagen from our skin tissues.

Exposure to the sun and smoking speed up this process. Creases below the eyes and deep lines above the eyes, fillers injections, Restylane, can remove these.

These procedures will be carried out by a fully qualified Practitioner.
